Wheely-Safe’s patented and multi-award-winning wheel and tyre safety systems offer a full suite of protection against major road safety issues that no single solution has previously tackled. The Wheely-Safe system not only detects potential wheel loss, but it also identifies any brake and hub overheating, high tyre temperatures and tyre leakage.
These systems are easy to fit, and can be hard-wired directly into the vehicle in under an hour. Wheely-Safe systems are suitable for light vehicles, light-rigid to heavy-rigid vehicles, heavy combination vehicles and multi combination heavy vehicles, and can be purchased in kits to suit any size fleet.
AVOID THESE CATASTROPHIC WHEEL RELATED RISKS:
WHEEL LOSS
Wheel Loss is a major concern for operators of heavy commercial vehicles and has been likened to a bouncing bomb when loose and hurtling down a road.
There are multiple risks and consequences associated with this incident, including: Loss of life, damage to other vehicles and property, and legal costs/settlements.
Wheely-Safe’s wheel loss sensors can help to prevent this outcome by alerting users to the hazard in real-time when a loosening wheel nut is detected.
Brake & hub overheating
Brake and hub overheating is a major cause of commercial vehicle fires, leading to costly vehicle damage and insurance claims, along with the reputational damage of closed roads and a business making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Sticking brakes are often to blame, with the resulting high brake temperatures at risk of triggering a blaze.
Wheely-Safe’s wheel and tyre safety systems monitor each sensor’s maximum and minimum temperatures, alerting users to any unusual braking temperature patterns early, and allowing them to fix the issue before a fire is started.
Tyre underinflation
Tyres are a major running cost, and failing to keep them properly inflated needlessly increases fuel costs and the risk of downtime, whilst also pushing up replacement costs as underinflated tyres wear out faster.
Underinflated tyres also make a vehicle’s steering less precise, increase stopping distances and lead to a higher risk of aquaplaning.
Wheely-Safe’s intelligent TPMS system sends alerts for critical low-pressure and ‘maintenance’ low-pressure readings, identifying issues as they are encountered.
Tyre Overheating
An increase in air temperature inside tyres is often the first sign of an impending tyre blowout. As you drive, the air temperature inside your tyres raises, increasing the overall pressure inside the tyre. In hot weather, this problem is compounded. Tyre pressure usually increases by 1 to 2 psi for every 10 degrees the temperature increases. In the case of over-inflated tyres, a blowout could be the result.
Wheely-Safe’s TPMS sensors monitor changes in air temperature inside tyres, notifying users if readings reach unsafe temperatures or pressures.
De-Risk your fleet with Wheely-Safe Intelligent Wheel and Tyre Safety Systems
Wheel detachment from vehicles, particularly heavy commercial vehicles, continues to be a major cause of concern for operators and is widely recognised as a global issue.
When a wheel becomes detached from a moving commercial vehicle, it has the potential to accelerate to speeds of up to 150 km/h. This has been likened by academics to a bouncing bomb, reaching a height of up to 50 metres before potentially colliding with other vehicles or road users at an equivalent force of around 10 tonnes (Source: FTA/RHA).

Avoid Unnecessary Risk With Wheel Safety Sensors
Many fleets fit brightly coloured indicator tags in an effort to prevent wheel loss, but these can only detect potential wheel loss situations on stationary vehicles. Given wheels don’t detach when a vehicle is parked, Wheely-Safe has focused on developing a system which provides alerts if a wheel begins to loosen mid-journey.
